WELCOME TO THE PC USERS GROUP OF CT [TPCUG-CT]

 

The PC Users Group of Connecticut meets on the last Thursday of each month at 6:30 P.M., at the Trumbull Public Library on Quality Street in Trumbull, CT.  The meetings are open to the public and we encourage non-members to attend as our guest. Members are encouraged to bring guests.

7:00 PM - Q & A / Tips & Trick: "Internet Security Refresher" - Al Rankell

Al will review the basics of Internet Security: Internet Dangers, Protection Software, Safe Passwords, Secure Websites, etc. 

 

7:45 PM - Refreshments and Member Interaction

 

8:00 PM -  IDENTITY THEFT and E-MAIL "PHISHING" - Al Rankell

"PHISHING" - sending an e-mail to a user  in order to scam the user into surrendering private information that will be used for identity theft. Al will describe how "Phishing" works, what you should do about it, how to avoid being a victim, reporting "phishing" scams, and what to do if you think you have been victimized.
